- Two brothers in southeastern Wisconsin have been charged following a fire that caused$50 million in damage to a meatpacking plant. Twenty-five-year-old Kurtis P of Milwaukee and 23-year-old Joshua P of Twentynine Palms, Calif. were charged Thursday with second-degree recklessly endangering safety.Prosecutors say the brothers fired a military-grade flare this month that landed on a Patrick Cudahy building. It sparked a fire that raged for more than two days and forced a 12-hour evacuation of the neighborhood over concerns about ammonia fumes.No one was hurt.Julius K represents Kurtis P. He says his client feels horribly and never meant to cause any harm.The charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.

SHEBOYGAN COUNTY - Sheboygan County authorities say a small fire at a sausage plant left one person with second-degree leg burns and prompted the evacuation of the building's 325 employees.
The fire at Johnsonville Sausage was reported Friday about 11 a.m. It was extinguished in about 30 minutes.Company spokeswoman Christine Wallace says the injured person was treated at a hospital and released.Sheriff's Lt. Mark Rupnik says the fire was in the company's Countryside facility in the Town of Sheboygan Falls.

He says no smoke or flames were visible outside the plant.Wallace says employees were let back in about 1 p.m. and production resumed as normal.She says damage appears "minimal" but officials won't know the full extent until an investigation is completed
